Shakir Sabur (Dr. Abdus Sabur Khan) is a renowned professor and former chairman of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Dhaka. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Dhaka in 2008 on ‘Modern Persian Short Stories: Thematic Character, Style, Reflection of Life and Society’. He is an expert on modern Persian literature, Iranology and the development of Persian language and literature in the Bengal region. He has published more than 26 books, including research, translation and original works. He has participated in various international seminars on Persian language, literature and culture held in Bangladesh, Iran, India and Turkey. He has also given academic lectures on Persian language and literature on online platforms organized by various universities in Iran and India.
