Description
This book ("Persia Storied in Rome") presents the vivid memory of several events, many outstanding personages and some legendary figures concerning both ancient and modern Iran, having been displayed in the Roman scenery throughout archaeological sites, monuments, epigraphs, churches, palaces, paintings, sculptures, illustrated manuscripts, poems, plays and music dramas, based on historical matters, Latin classic sources, biblical texts, documents and diplomatic reports. These representations, marking out an imaginary line of Iran that emerges through the roads of Rome, have been surveyed by the author of the book so to achieve an original research which has no precedent in the domain of scientific studies.
