Patimat Alibekova (1961 - Russia) Patimat Alibekova is orientalist, professor at Dagestan State University and prominent researcher at the Institute of Language, Literature and Art of Dagestan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She was born in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, in 1961. She graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Leningrad State University in Russia in 1983, majoring in Persian language and literature. After completing her studies and receiving her doctorate degree, she taught Arabic and Persian languages and Persian literature at the Dagestan State University and did scientific work at the Institute of History, Archeology and Anthropology. Then, she got the job at the Institute of Language, Literature and Art of Dagestan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the result of her years of research was the authoring of several books and scientific articles on Oriental studies, cultural and historical relations between Iran and Dagestan, manuscripts and the influence of Persian literature on the national literature of Dagestan.
