Götz König is a German Iranist born in 1968. His work is focussed on Old and Middle Iranian texts related to Zoroastrianism. Currently he is working on a new edition of the texts belonging to the Xorde Avesta within the project Corpus Avesticum Berolinense at Freie Universität Berlin/Germany. He has published books and articles on the intellectual and religious history of ancient and late antique Iran and on Zoroastrian texts belonging to the Avesta, the translation of the Avesta and the Pahlavi literature of the 9th/10th century.
