Born in 1968, Dr Abbas Poya Currently resides in Germany.With the outbreak of Afghanistan wars in 1979, he immigrated to Iran and completed his seminarian studies in Mashad, which he had already started in Afghanistan. He studies history, the cultures of Middle Eastern countries, political science and comparative religions at Hamburg University. He also studies Islamic law in the Arabic Department of Damascus Universityfor a year. He received his doctoral degree in 2002 with his dissertation entitled 'Anerkennung des Ijtihad, Legitimation des Toleranz' from Hamburg University. During the past two years, he has been working at the same university as a scholar and instructor. He has written and translated many essays for different journals.
