Great Strides Must Be Taken to Promot the Scientific Credibility of the Award

In a meeting with the executive board of the 24th World Award for Book of the Year of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the scientific secretary made an emphasis upon the promotion of the scientific credibility of the award.

Prof Mohsen Javadi, addressing the executive board of the award, said "although it is really difficult to reach a strict precise consensus regarding
the rank of the award among other highly ranked ones in Islamic or middle east countries, one can realise its scientific significance and credibility on the basis of the past winners and publishers' encouraging records, and the wide-range  entries submitted to the award secretariat.
Off and on, despite the fact that other countries' awards are financially much more than ours, we come to know that some winners have refused to include these awards in their academic-career records. This is because they have not found these awards as having highly scientific credibility.
It is safe to say that the same doen not hold for our awards. However, this is not a reason for being pleased with the current situation but we must make great and deep strides towards the promotion of the award to the extent that having a record of it can be considered as an extraordinary accomplishment for the winners".
