As a side event at the International Conference of &ldquothe Thousand Year School of Shi&rsquoa&rdquo which was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Berlin on October 6th-8th 2017, some of the outstanding researchers in Iranian-Islamic studies and the winners of the World Award for Book of the Year including Josef Van Ess, Desmond Durkin Meisterernst, Gerhard Bowering, and Wolfram Kleiss were honored. Despite their enthusiasm to travel to Iran, these winners could not have participated at the presentation ceremony of the 24th World Award for Book of the Year in Tehran due to problems such as illness and old age. Unfortunately, disease problems of Dr. Josef Van Ess and Dr. Wolfram Kleiss prevented them to take part at this meeting too, and their delegates participated at the ceremony on their behalf.
The winners at this ceremony also expressed their gratitude to the secretariat of the World Award and the officials of KHANEH KETAB, and declared their preparation to cooperate with Iranian students in research activities. They stated their viewpoints on Iran and Iranian studies as well.
