George Archer, the Assistant Professor of Iowa State University, received his PhD from the department of Theology at Georgetown University in 2015. He was then appointed as the assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Iowa State University. He specializes in history of late antiquity Islam, Qur'anic studies, and oral literature of Qur’an.
